an almost zero level of form and meaning

The work depicts three blue, empty projected images. This blue image is seen when the input of a beamer is removed. In this sense, the image literally contains zero information. With these three empty images a composition is made. The composition was then photographed and printed.

In this work, layer after layer of emptyness are stacked upon each other in an attempt to create something meaningful. In a way, the work can be seen as an nowadays, digital, post-internet interpretation of Malevich’s black square.

How can -or- should we create something new and meaningful when everything we see online is recycled and reproduced?
